Kenny Wang is one of China’s most prominent figures in Scotch whisky. He is recognised as a leading voice behind the growth of single malt Scotch whisky in the Chinese market, sharing his deep understanding of and passion for Scotch with consumers and buyers around the country. In 2003, Kenny joined Whyte and Mackay as Greater China regional director. In his two decades at the company, Kenny has spearheaded market development plans and brand relaunches, including positioning Dalmore as a luxury brand for the Greater China market. Inspired by master distiller (and fellow Hall of Fame inductee) Richard Paterson, Kenny decided to spread knowledge across mainland China as well as whisky. He established his own whisky education programmes, delivered at whisky exhibitions across China. Over the past 20 years, Kenny and his team have educated almost 50,000 consumers about the basics of whisky. Kenny remains committed to collaborating with industry professionals in the Greater China market on whisky fairs, education, and training. With his unwavering passion and dedication to the whisky industry, Kenny believes that the Greater China whisky market will emerge as one of the most significant in the world — a phenomenon he will have helped to drive.
